About Jim Gabriel/Care & Services
Jim Gabriel has been a Neuromuscular (NMT) massage therapist for over 30 years. In 1981, after training in Sarasota with Paul St. John, the developer of NMT. Jim and his family then moved to Atlanta where he pioneered the NMT technique in Georgia.
Jim, and his wife Becky, founded ASHA, the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts, a
ground-breaking state authorized school of clinical massage therapy in 1991. Then, returning to Sarasota in 2004, Jim worked clinically with noted holistic physicians, Alan Sault, M.D. and John Monhollon, M.D. before establishing the Gabriel Center for Massage Therapy. In May 2009, Jim was voted Favorite Cranial Practitioner and received the Natural Awakenings "Nattie" award.
Jim utilizes NMT, Structural Energetic Therapy (SET) as well as computer assisted micro-current to improve athletic performance and facilitate recovery from all manner of musculoskeletal injuries, scoliosis, sleep disorders, fibromyalgia, arthritis, migraine headaches and to recondition scar tissue.

| The Therapy Types Structural Energetic Therapy (SET) SET is an innovative myofascial therapy combined with cranial therapy that unwinds painful postural and injury strain patterns from the cranium down through the toes. Visual analysis and muscle testing are assessment tools used throughout the unwinding process that restores balance and relieves pain. Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) NMT is a manual therapy that employs the scientific application of properly applied pressure to relieve pain and restore neuromuscular function. The NMT technique augments the SET therapy to relieve everything from carpal tunnel syndrome and TMJ migraine headaches to herniated discs and neck/back pain. Massage Therapy (LMT) SET & NMT as pain relieving, rehabilitative techniques are the primary techniques used at the Center. In addition, Jim Gabriel is trained in Romanian Medical Therapy which includes lymphatic drainage techniques to relieve edematous/lymph congestion due to injury, disease, and/or surgery. Swedish Massage is combined as needed to ease the way for clients going through extreme stress or fatigue. |

Computer Assisted Microcurrent Therapy
I have used computer assisted microcurrent via the Acuscope/Myopulse (EAMP) technology in my clinical practice since 1984. Originally developed by NASA scientists, EAMP employs low amperage electrotherapy to create semi-cybernetic electro stimulation. Each unit is guided by biofeedback mechanisms that measures physical response and conductivity in the body. It then determines, on a moment by moment basis, the corrective wave pattern suited to penetrate tissue and stimulate therapeutic results.
The formats in these units are designed to help people with pain, inflammation, stress, sleep disorders, fibromyaligia, scar tissue, arthritis, shingles, TMJ dysfunction, torn ligaments, broken bones and other disorders. The Acuscope resonates on a cellular level with nerve tissue. The Myopulse resonates a cellular level with muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, bursa, discs, etc.
